A person has died following a fatal road-traffic incident which occurred on the edge of Waterford city this afternoon.
Gardaí and emergency services are at the scene of the crash, which took place at about 2.25pm on the Old Tramore Road (L1020).
It is understood two other people are receiving treatment from emergency services.
In a statement on Saturday evening, An Garda Siochána confirmed an accident had occurred.

“Gardaí and emergency services are currently at the scene of a serious road traffic collision on the L1020 Old Tramore Road at Ballindud in Co Waterford that occurred at approximately 2.25pm. The road is closed and local diversions are in place.
